BUILDING ON SANDS

Little by little, the walls arise
Shining with magnificence, its glory shines
Glimmering the world’s darkest sides
Amazed by its beauty, everyone desires.

Yet through the brightness the roaring waves splash
Through the magnificent castle that was built on sand
The towering walls worn out and crushed
Oh why could this happen? Gone were the lush.

Frustration, grief, and sorrow fill the air
As the castle once built was nothing there
Gone with the waves, gone with the ground
All we see was sand, but the castle’s not around.

We grieve for the castle, we mourn in despair
But have we ever mourned for the creator of air?
Loving the world, striving for abundance
Yet leaving our souls with nothing, no substance.

Everything on Earth is just temporary
Even the castle that was built in glory
Everything is non-sense, even the hours
But with Him as our builder, all is ours.
